PackGeek ep #92 | 1990 Fleer Basketball Wax Packs

The Fleer company created some of the most memorable Basketball sets in the hobby. There was an explosion in the popularity of basketball cards in the early 90s and 1990 Fleer, home of the Shawn Kemp rookie card, was a big part of that.

PackGeek ep #91 | 2007-08 Topps Basketball Rack Packs from Walmart

Recently, Walmart.com was selling these 20-pack lots of older basketball packs for $20/lot. People were discussing them on the Blowout Cards Forums, and a couple of people reported bringing in some great packs. I love a good treasure hunt, so I splurged on several of these lots. Well, they turned out great! Some of the lots I received even included some Topps Chrome packs and some older Upper Deck packs (during their basketball heyday). You can see a full list of packs I purchased on this thread – third post down:

PackGeek ep #90 | 1986 Donruss Baseball Wax Packs

1986 Donruss Baseball will forever be known in my mind as the hunt for the Jose Canseco rated rookie card. It’s a legendary card, and anyone that was into cards during the late 80s and early 90s was aware of just how special this card was…and still is.

PackGeek ep #89 | 1984 Topps Baseball wax packs | The Quest for a Mattingly Rookie

Let’s just get this out first…I have had HORRIBLE luck with ’83 and ’84 products on the show. I don’t think I’ve hit any of the big rookies from either of those years during an episode! But…being the hard-headed obsessive that I am – I must push forward with the quest to pull a Mattingly rookie! So let’s rip some packs of ’84 Topps Baseball – and see what we can find.
